University of Scouting

Courses are offered in each program area, as well as in subjects that cut across multiple programs, such as High Adventure, Special Needs, STEM, and Social Media. Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
Do you want to take your Cubs camping? Then you should attend BALOO. Every Cub Scout overnighter must have least one adult who has completed the BALOO course, and we encourage packs to have multiple adults with BALOO training. The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in the Cub Scout Leader Book and focus on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences. All adults, whether brand new to Scouting or experienced, are welcome to attend. The overnight stay is required. Multiple districts offer BALOO at different times of the year, and adults can attend any district’s training, but we are offering BALOO on March 22-23, 2025 at Camp Snyder.
